Those of us who know God understand why people do some of the terrible things that they do. The wickedness we see in others is an indication of the spiritual bondage that Satan has over those individuals’ lives.
That wickedness is evidence that the Enemy has blinded their minds, darkened their understanding and the devil literally uses their human bodies like puppets on a string to execute his evil agenda in the earth. Yes, the devil is real but conquerable! We need to understand HOW God made us, and His purpose for our lives.
Why Do I Exist?
God created mankind in His image and likeness: we are speaking spirits just like God who gave HIS dominion and authority in this physical earth realm over to US: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28″
The problem is most of the human population does not know what they were created for! If God is going to execute His will in the earth, He will do it through people who seek to live for Him and who cooperate with His will.
According to one of the very first things God told us to do as His representative ambassadors, Believers are here to subdue evil forces in the earth!
Believers are to exercise dominion in this physical earth in the same manner that God the Father does in heaven, and Jesus reminds of this when He taught us how to pray: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10″
Ignorance Kills
Those who are unaware or who don’t care about this critical purpose for living become totally vulnerable to being used by the Devil who also needs a physical body to work through. Like God The Father, the Devil is a spirit entity who needs bodies of flesh to operate through and execute his agenda in this earth realm. We see in scripture that demons indeed can possess human bodies as well as the bodies of animals:
“For Jesus was commanding, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit! And He asked him, What is your name? He replied, My name is Legion, for we are many. And he kept begging Him urgently not to send them [himself and the other demons] away out of that region. Now a great herd of hogs was grazing there on the hillside. And the demons begged Him, saying, Send us to the hogs, that we may go into them! So He gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out [of the man] and entered into the hogs; and the herd, numbering about 2,000, rushed headlong down the steep slope into the sea and were drowned in the sea. Mark 5:8-13 AMP”
Hopefully we can see from this passage that the devil is a powerful foe who has the ability to overcome a defenseless man, but not Jesus Christ or those who are IN Jesus Christ!
The Devil Wants YOU!
The devil’s affect on people is HYPNOTIC – literally hypnotic and very powerful: anybody and everybody not living for Jesus and not covered by the Blood of Jesus – whether they believe this, know this or not – they are totally vulnerable to Satan’s influences as he irresistibly appeals to the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life.
This is why the Lord implores Believers to continually renew their minds through the Word of God and to guard our hearts; that the Wicked One won’t overtake us as well. Anybody who is NOT pursuing the HIGHER life, the ZOE life of God where God’s Word is the governing authority and where the Spirit of God leads and guides one’s life — they can only live the lower carnal, animalistic life where Satan dwells and rules.
Our Only Hope
So what do we do when we recognize wicked, negative, and self-destructive tendencies in our own lives?
We take advantage of the opportunity God offers us to repent by turning from those wicked ways and turning towards Him, to be totally forgiven and cleansed by Him, to plead the blood of Jesus over our lives CONSTANTLY, to rebuke the devil in our lives AND in the lives of others with the authority God gave us CONSTANTLY, especially when we see his evil works in the world, and we must be sure to thank and praise God for all of these abilities, including the ability to cast devils out and the ability discern what others are oblivious to.
As we grow in Christ (the Anointing of The Anointed One: Jesus) that same ability Jesus had in this earth to overcome every negative situation will become our ability as well – with His help and His help alone! Jesus expects us to GROW and even do greater works than He did while He was in the earth:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12″
Let’s Get Busy!
When it comes to Satanic influence in others’ lives or even our own, we can rebuke the enemy, bind his evil influences and release the power of God into any and every situation that we need to according to Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
If you believe the Words of Jesus, then you must know that the power over the REAL source of spiritual wickedness, sickness, poverty, lack, calamity and destruction belongs to US because Jesus gave it to us right here: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19″
Sometimes, we can be too busy worrying about the wickedness in others that we fail to deal with our own – and so when we try to go help somebody else with their issues we have no power! Once we master the demons in our own lives, then we can help somebody else with theirs – that is if they want that help!
You Can Help Those Who Help Themselves!
Remember, since God gives everybody autonomy (freedom to choose) we can’t impose our will on others. We can’t make anybody choose God or Godly lifestyle; God Himself doesn’t make anybody choose Him and neither can we! We must recognize it’s not them, but the evil spirits at work within them. Therefore, we must not be fearful of of those devils but take authority over them and pray for the deliverance of the persons who have unwittingly aligned themselves with those devils.
All we can do, and must do is pray that God opens their eyes; that the light of the gospel might shine into their lives in order that they can claim that same deliverance and victory over the Enemy for themselves before this life is over.
True Power Over The ENEMY Found Here
Now THAT’S a prayer worth praying constantly! Forgive them, love them (from a safe distance like a lifeguard if necessary), call on your family of Prayer Warriors for assistance, and when that demon-possessed one wakes up and snaps out of that trance, when they express they want true deliverance – the GREEN LIGHT is on for you as a Believer to evict those devils out, command them never to return, and lead that individual to salvation in Jesus Christ!
