At first glance, one might think by Dr. John Peldyak’s peculiar suggestion for his patients to consume plenty of sugar that it’s only a ploy to to fatten his wallet by guaranteeing his patients will need his services. So what’s REALLY going on?
On today’s episode (2/8/10) of “Know The Cause” television host Doug Kaufmann interviewed a rather unconventional dentist about his astounding discovery of an amazing and relatively unknown sugar.
Dr. Peldyak is not recommending his patients increase their consumption of the typical 6-carbon sugars found in our diet, but rather a unique, all-natural and anti-microbial 5-carbon sugar similar to ribose known as XYLITOL.
Dr. Peldyak discussed the importance of 5-carbon sugars in our system, that our bodies actually need them and according to Kaufmann, a particular clinical study indicated that xylitol has the ability to halt and even reverse gum disease and tooth decay!
Xylitol is reported to disrupt the structural biofilm which forms on our teeth and creates acids that break down our teeth. According to the reports, among other benefits xylitol halts that acid production process by killing bacteria in the mouth.
Xylitol is not new to the world, just new and relatively unknown in America. It is sold regularly to consumers in Japan where it is trademarked, and was researched in Finland in recent years.
Dr. Peldyak says that xylitol inhibits the germs that lead to inflammation of the gums and helps with the remineraliziation of teeth. He recommends people be healthier overall by guarding their upper respiratory tract and mouth with xylitol-containing products.
During the interview, Peldyak introduced a nasal spray containing xylitol that helps irrigate and clean the nasal cavity to help rid pathogens as well as xylitol chewing gum, toothpaste, breath spray, mints and mouth wash.
Peldyak then warned “Know The Cause” viewers to look for other artificial sugars in various products containing xylitol because if there additional sugars in that product, it indicates that there probably is not enough xylitol in that product to make an appreciable difference.
He said that xylitol is sweet enough by itself and that other sugars (artificial or otherwise) would not be necessary; we want high levels of xylitol in whatever product we choose to make it worth our while.
Here in the North Central Louisiana area, xylitol-containing chewing gum is available at The Olde Wheat Barn, a health food store in Ruston, LA and the brand name is Spry. Check your local health food or natural product store for the Spry product line.
I currently use the Spry chewing gum and toothpaste regularly and in just a matter of two days I noticed a very smooth and clean feel to my teeth, my breath improved dramatically and stayed fresh longer and my gums ceased to bleed.
I happened to grab the last Spry toothpaste on the shelf, but Dr. Peldyak is a spokesperson for the Spry Corporation and if you would like more information or access their product line, The Fount highly recommends you visit the following website: www.xlear.com or call 877.919.5327
You also might consider putting some gentle pressure on your health food store to carry and frequently stock this product because in our opinion – it’s that good and it’s good for you.
There is some amazing information to be found at Doug Kaufmann’s website: www.knowthecause.com His television show can be viewed there and you can sign up for his free monthly newsletter as well.
